Waitrose Hires Michelin Star Chef To Help Develop Own Label

"Waitrose has appointed celebrated chef Jonathan Moore as Executive Chef."

Moore has over 30 years' experience in the food industry, having worked as a chef in Michelin starred and five star restaurants. He has most recently held senior product development and innovation roles with major food manufacturers and retailers. And is the founder of successful food consultancy Tomorrow's Food, which specialises in new product development and food trends.

Waitrose said the appointment builds on the retailer's firmly established reputation for food excellence and own label product development. Nearly a quarter of Waitrose products have been developed in to a sub-brand in recent years. Launches span from the everyday 'essential Waitrose' range of over 1,400 products to premium 'Menu From Waitrose' and 'Heston from Waitrose' ranges.

Waitrose Head of Brand Development and Product Innovation Sam Dickson commented: "We're really excited to have Jonathan on board - he is widely recognised in the industry as a leading product development chef and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as we continue to raise the bar in product quality and innovation."
