Sainsbury's Expansion in York Will Create Jobs

"In Monks Cross, York in the UK, Sainsbury's are extending the supermarket in multi million pound scheme."

The floor space will increase from 53,000 square feet to 74,000 square feet, and when complete in July this year around 40 new jobs

will be created. There will be full and part time positions, and the recruitment process could start in May.
There will be a new car park, and more toilets for customers and the tills will be reorganised. There will be a new mezzanine level restaurant, together with new ranges of products in the increased floor selling space.

For Sainsbury's a spokesperson said that the rows of bays are to realigned to help shoppers find spaces more easily, and there will be more disabled and parent and child spaces, and double the cycle parking spaces.
