Logopak targets pallet labeller at food and drink sector

Logopak targets pallet labeller at food and drink sector

"Print and apply labelling specialist Logopak is targeting food and drink manufacturers with equipment to apply bar codes to three sides of a pallet"

Logopak said the 920PFR had been developed in response to the introduction of side-load pallet handling trucks that meant a pallet needed an extra bar code so drivers could scan them easily.

Rather than needing to turn the pallet, the 920PFR has an applicator arm that can travel 1.3m down the pallet to place the third label.

"With these side-load trucks, the back of the pallet is to the side of the driver who is unable to reach either of the conventional adjacent side labels applied at the front of the pallet," said Logopak UK general manager Wilson Clark.

The telescopic arm has been engineered with linear bearings to resist defection and maintain accuracy of label placements, Logopak said. The third label can been easily reached by a forklift driver and scanned into a warehouse management system.

The first installation is at a breakfast cereal factory where two 920PFRs have been mounted one above the other to handle 85 double-stacked pallets an hour.
