Kraft bolsters innovation team to drive growth
by Rosie Baker - 30/09/2011
"Kraft Foods, which owns brands including Cadbury, Philadelphia and Oreos, is extending its research and development division with the creation of 100 additional R&D roles."
The additional roles demonstrate the food manufacturer’s commitment to driving growth through new product development in the UK.
It will mean Kraft has 650 staff working on R&D in the UK. The roles will be split between Kraft’s sites in Reading and Kraft Foods’ Global Centre of Excellence for Chocolate in Bournville.
A year ago, Kraft opened a European research and development centre to focus on its gum and confectionery business, which includes gum brand Trident, Halls, Bassets and The Natural Confectionary Co.
The company has also recently announced that it is splitting its global business into two separate entities. It will operate a $32bn (£19.6bn) global snacks business including Oreo, Cadbury, Milka, Trident and a $16bn (£9.8bn) North American grocery business including Philadelphia, Capri Sun and Maxwell House coffee.
