Kerry buys Cargill flavour arm for €168m
by rte.ie/ - 23/09/2011
"Food group Kerry has agreed a deal to buy Cargill's global flavour business for $230m (€168m)."
In June, Kerry had said it was in exclusive talks with Cargill to acquire the flavours business.
Cargill Flavor Systems reported annual revenues of about $200m last year. It makes flavour ingredients and flavour systems for use in the drinks, dairy, sweet and savoury foods businesses. It has operations in France, the UK, South Africa, India, Malaysia, China, the US, Puerto-Rico, Mexico and Brazil.
Kerry says the deal will strengthen its capability to provide integrated customer solutions across all food and beverage markets and extend its market spread in emerging markets.
