Kent Crisps Launches first Oyster Flavour Crisp

"Quex Foods has launched a new range of premium crisps reflecting the flavours and landscapes of Kent – the Garden of England"

Others in the new range are Ashmore Cheese and Onion, Sea Salt and Biddenden Cider Vinegar, and Sea Salt.

Kent Crisps' new flavour range

The initial range offers 40g packets which go on sale from more than 60 farm shops, delis, and independent fine food specialists across Kent while plans for further outlets include pubs, hotels and visitor attractions in the South East are yet to be announced.

Kent-based Quex Foods, a division of Quex Park Estate, is behind the new hand cooked crisps which contain only natural flavours and colours and are produced using sustainable methods – an important factor for the estate’s conservation aims.

Kent potatoes grown in fields surrounding Quex Park in the Kentish village of Birchington are used and varieties include Lady Rosetta, Lady Claire, Lady Jo and Hermes.

Anthony Curwen, Quex Foods managing director, said:

“We have selected flavours that celebrate Kent produce and tastes associated with the county and in addition, our crisp packets show imagery representative of the county’s fine heritage.

“Other flavours are planned and we hope the people of Kent, its visitors and those from further afield who appreciate the Garden of England will be proud to enjoy them.

“The response we’ve had so far from people who have tried them has been amazing; the Oyster and Vinegar flavour has been singled out as being very different from anything currently available.”
