Kellogg's Special K red dress to be sold by Marks & Spencer

Kellogg's has teamed up with Marks & Spencer to recreate the garment for the high street after thousands of people contacted them asking where they could buy one.

The beach-style summer dress will go on sale for £19.50 this month.

The red dress has become synonymous with the brand's Special K commercials and can be seen in the current £3 million Love Your Summer Shape advertising campaign.

But while the dress has always been worn by slender actresses in the adverts as they eat the low-fat breakfast cereal, the retail version is available up to size 22.

Greg Peterson, Kellogg's UK marketing director, said: "Special K consumers have been asking us for years where they can buy the dresses featured in our advertising.

"This partnership with M&S has given us the opportunity to finally be able to offer women the chance to do so.

"The marriage between Special K and fashion is a natural fit – linking up with M&S has given both brands a unique commercial opportunity to joins forces to meet the needs of both our consumers."

A spokesperson from M&S said: "The M&S red dress is an extremely versatile summer essential which can be dressed up or down and is sure to flatter any figure.

"The Special K dress has become a fashion icon in its own right so we are proud to be the first retailer to offer this famous dress to customers."
