Jobs boost after £24-million takeover

"NEW jobs could be brought to a Scunthorpe food factory following a £24-million takeover deal."

The Sauce Company (TSC), which has a factory on Arkwright Way in the town, has been taken over by Key Capital Partners.

The deal involved major cash investment by five long-standing managers at the firm and Jonathan Skofic, a former executive of Cott Beverages - the drinks company behind energy drink Red Rooster.

TSC Commercial director Mandy Taylor is one of the managers who has put money in to the firm.

She said: "If things continue as they are doing, it is very likely that we will do that [employ more staff].

"KCP have already agreed to an increase in the filling capacity.

"If we are buying new equipment, we will need new staff."

In the short term, Mrs Campbell said day to day operations would remain the same.
The new management team is set to sit down and take a strategic look at ways to grow the business in Scunthorpe.

Mrs Campbell added: "If it's not broken, don't fix it."

Key Capital Partners (KCP) has offices based in Leeds, Cambridge and Birmingham. The company specialises in small to mid-market buy-outs.

Recently, KCP has invested £4.3-million in Templine Recruitment and £2.25-million in fashion label Sabotage.
