Gwynedd food firm to create 15 new jobs

"A GWYNEDD based food manufacturing company is creating 15 new jobs after investment in new cooking and cooling equipment."

Ready Foods, based at Cibyn Industrial Estate, Caernarfon, has spent more than £100,000 on its new sauce cooking system which will allow the company to meet increased demand for its range of quality ready meals.

The company, which began trading in June 2006, currently has 58 employees and has enjoyed steady growth.

Iwan Thomas, Ready Foods managing director, said: “We have consistently increased sales and capacity over the last 18 months. We have invested heavily in our site in Caernarfon from the outset, and this further investment will put us in a much stronger position.

“The new equipment means we can speed up the whole manufacturing process, allowing us to create meals in just over two hours.”

Ready Foods supplies restaurants, pubs, hotels, food wholesalers and retailers. Turnover last year was £7.5m, and with increased market share the company says it is confident of achieving its target of £10m annual sales by 2011.

The firm is part of the Meadowvale Food Group, a leading supplier of poultry products.

Recruitment to the new positions will begin within the next 3/4 weeks and the company says more jobs may be created at the site later in the year
