Food company gives to Armed Forces Charity
by Lisa Jones - 07/02/2011
"A FOOD company which donates all post-tax profits to Armed Forces charities, welcomed former rugby internationals and ex-squaddies at a promotional lunch."
Red Lion Foods, owned by Machen-born Andrew Gidden, scheduled the event at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff to coincide with Wales’ Six Nations clash with England.
Former Wales captain Paul Thorburn, working as an ambassador for the company, said: “Even small things like buying Red Lion Tomato Sauce rather than Heinz will make a difference. There are 27 million households in the UK. If everyone buys one Red Lion Foods item a week we will donate £30m to charity each year. If your local store does not sell Red Lion products, ask it to.”
Post tax profits are donated to organisations such as the Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.
