Del Monte wins UK food award

"Frutini Pineapple Fruitsticks by Del Monte is the big UK winner at SIAL d'Or, the trade competition which rewards 30 international innovations for their major commercial success in their national markets."
The competition recognises products in three segments: SIAL d'Or by Category; the SIAL d'Or by Country; and Global SIAL d'Or.
The winner of the top award – Global SIAL d'Or – will be announced at the official award-giving ceremony, held during the exhibition in Paris, from 17 to 21 October 2010.
The products competed in nine different 'product' categories: savoury groceries, sweet groceries, fresh (non-dairy) products, fresh dairy products, frozen savoury foods, frozen sweet foods, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages (excluding wine), and wine.
The Category winners were:
· Sweet grocery products: Bits O' Juice, Dynamic Commodities PTY LTD (South Africa)
· Savoury frozen foods: Tillmann's Toasty - Der Geflugelsnack zum Toasten, Tillmann's Toasty - Der Geflugelsnack zum Toasten (Germany)
· Wine: O2, Moet Hennessy (Argentina)
· Sweet grocery: Honey Drops, Island Abbey Foods (Canada)
· Fresh product: Hamburguesas y salchichas refrigeradas de atún, Calvo Distribución Alimentaria (Spain)
· Savoury grocery product: Isio Actistérol, Lesieur (France)
· Alcoholic beverages: Martini Soda, Martini & Rossi spa - Gruppo Bacardi-Martini (Italy)
· Non-alcoholic beverages: Green-up, Herbapol – Lublin SA (Poland)
· Fresh dairy products: Sedlcansky Troubelin, Povltavske mlekarny (Czech Republic)
