Crisp firm wins £6m of investment in Norwich plant

"A £6m expansion of crisp producer Kettle Foods in Norfolk has been announced by the firm's US owners.

"

Diamond Foods said it was expanding the factory in Norwich to meet "significant growth" in demand for its crisps.

The expansion, which will also bring new jobs, is expected to start in the spring.

Kettle Foods in the UK was sold to Diamond Foods for £402.3m ($615m) in 2010. Kettle Foods first set up in Bowthorpe, Norwich, in 1992.

Jeremy Bradley, managing director for Kettle Foods Europe, said: "We are continuing to drive strong growth in a tough marketplace and see a lot of opportunity to sustain this trend.

"It's a credit to the work of the Norwich team that Diamond is making this investment, which supports our plans for growth and will create a number of new jobs for the region."
