Bottlegreen sets sights on overseas growth
by Jonita Otto - 22/03/2011
"Leading UK premium adult soft drinks manufacturer, Bottlegreen Drinks Co has announced that the company is embarking on a major export growth programme."
The programme aims to see its current export operation grow from 7% of the company’s £14m annual turnover, to 10% - 12%.
The export drive forms part of plans to grow the company by an ambitious 42% by end 2013, turning the bottlegreen brand into a £20m per annum commodity. The company has secured distributors in Canada, Australia, Sweden and Japan and the company has its sights set on further Asian and Scandinavian markets as well as several large European markets and the US.
Once a small cottage industry in Gloucestershire, bottlegreen now has a 9% share of the overall UK soft drinks market and is the outright market leader in the premium adult cordials market. Further expanding its export operations will see the company build on the tremendous success it has seen in the last three years. From 2007 to 2010, value sales of bottlegreen’s premium cordials grew by 73% (58% ahead of market growth) and its sparkling pressé sales have grown by 110%, 97% ahead of market growth.
Simon Speers, Managing Director of Bottlegreen Drinks Co states: “Initial research in our target countries has shown that bottlegreen appeals strongly to a very similar audience the world over. Sophisticated women in their mid-thirties and fourties, who have high standards and are motivated by quality. This proves to us that it is the product’s reputation for high quality and taste that is driving demand in our overseas markets, and gives us a solid platform from which to drive further growth.”
Simon Speers continues: “Bottlegreen has never been afraid of thinking big and the export drive is part of a huge growth ambition that will see the UK’s leading premium adult soft drink brand propelled onto the international soft drinks stage."
