Alex James joins food campaign
by pa.press.net - 24/07/2009
"Alex James has signed up to a campaign to encourage people to eat locally-produced British food. "
The 40-year-old Blur bassist, who put his wild days behind him to produce cheese on a farm in the Cotswolds, has joined Judith Chalmers, Jenni Falconer, Colin Murray and Gaynor Faye in backing the Sainsbury's drive.
Over the next six weeks, the celebrities will visit various areas of the UK, with Alex spreading the word about the Eat Britain initiative in the Somerset area.
Alex has been performing with the recently reunited Blur over the summer, including concerts at the Glastonbury Festival and Hyde Park.
Research from the supermarket found that while 37 million of Brits will take holidays on British soil this summer, almost half said they would not change their eating habits at all.
